A special Veterans Day Program was held on Monday, November 12, 2018 hosted by Madison Avenue Upper Elementary. Madison Avenue Lower Elementary helped to host the special program.  

Music was provided by both elementary school choirs and the Madison High School band. Colonel Ed McDaniel was the guest speaker.

McDaniel received a Master of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He graduated from the United States Army Chaplain’s School and has finished 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.

He spent 25 years in the military and the last 13 years were spent in the United States Army Reserve.

The last six years he served as Command Chaplain for the 81st Regional Support Command in Birmingham, Ala., the largest Army Reserve Command in the world. He has received many awards during his military career but he is proudest of “The Legion of Merit.”

He is now retired and he and his wife are members of First Baptist Church in Madison.
