The Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the City’s 2018 economic growth and development and honor top volunteers with an Awards Banquet headlining New York City’s Dancing Dream performing the music of ABBA, Tuesday, January 29 at the Hilton Jackson on County Line Road.

With the theme, “Mamma Mia! The Winner Takes It All”, this year’s banquet will begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, entertainment and the awards program at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $65.00 per person.

“Our Annual Banquet is our end-of-the-year celebration when we honor all the many Chamber members and City supporters who have worked hard to make our City one of Mississippi’s finest to live and work,” said Linda Bynum, Chamber Executive Director.

“It’s a night of celebration and a chance for us to do something special for our members – a way of showing appreciation for their many contributions.”

During the banquet, the Chamber will honor the year’s award winners for Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Diplomat of the Year and name the 2018 Community Service Award winner.

Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee will announce the recipient of the 2018 Economic Development Award and also name the 2018 City Maker, Ridgeland’s highest and most prestigious award.

During the banquet, 2018 Ridgeland Chamber President Karen McKie of Green Oak Florist & Garden Center, will pass the gavel to 2019 Ridgeland Chamber President Bill Bethany of Community Bank of Mississippi.

“Dancing Dream is one of the few ABBA Tribute bands in the country,” Bynum said.  “The New York City based touring tribute act was founded by two European singers in 2009 in hopes of transporting nostalgic audiences back to the happy times of the 70’s when ABBA, the great pop supergroup from Sweden, ruled the airwaves,” Bynum said.

“Because of the rise in popularity of both the movie and Broadway play Mamma Mia, Dancing Dream performs concerts across the nation attracting audiences of all ages.  Dancing Dream will take you on a nostalgic trip back to the glitz and glamour of the 70’s with their beautiful harmonies, elaborate costumes and exciting choreography, she added.

Seating is limited.  Tickets may be reserved by calling the Chamber at 601-991-9996.
