A new car wash was recently approved in Gluckstadt along with other development.

GoShine Car Wash on Dees Way west of the Burger King off of Gluckstadt Road received approved from the Board of Supervisors after being recommend by Planning and Zoning.

Two new additions to existing structures were also approved.

Those expansions include those for Mannsdale Upper Elementary and Callaway’s Yard and Garden location on Calhoun Station Parkway in Gluckstadt.

The Madison School Board voted in August to approve Mannsdale’s expansion, which will add six new classrooms to accommodate a growing number of students from the area.

In addition to those motions, supervisors approved three sign variances:

• The Fastenal Company was granted permission to construct a 50-square foot ground sign, which is 29 square feet bigger than the maximum allowed in an I-2 (heavy industrial) zone at the south entrance to its facility on Old Jackson Road.

• Kasai was granted permission to add a 106-square-foot sign on the side of its facility at 435 Church Road that faces the interstate.

• Lucky Towne, LLC, developers of Lucky Towne Square development at 1091 Gluckstadt Road, was granted permission to construct signage for all seven of its storefronts totaling 333 square feet of signage. Current tenants include AT&T, Sandals Day Spa, Domino’s and Smoothie King. There are still three vacancies for companies there.

All of the motions approved by the supervisors were unanimous.
