RIDGELAND — A new, national-branded event center received approval here Tuesday night.

Aldermen unanimously voted 7-0 to approve a conditional use permit for Noah’s Event Center on Crescent Boulevard. Ward 2 Alderman Chuck Gautier motioned the approval and Ward 4 Alderman Brian Ramsey seconded.

Noah’s Event Venue is a nationwide event venue company with standalone venues in more than 40 locations. This will be the first Mississippi location for the company that has venues in 24 other states.

Mayor Gene McGee said that the item had been approved after a public hearing with the City Zoning Board.

The property is zoned C-1 for low-intensity commercial district. The conditional use permit was required for the business to operate as an event venue.

Aldermen also approved a site plan and architectural review on the consent agenda.
