The Canton Public Schools Board of Trustees has narrowed its search for a new superintendent from 19 down to two, the district announced in a release this week.

The two now vying for the position are Gary P. Hannah, a current assistant superintendent with the Jackson Public School District, and Earl Joe Nelson, principal at Pass Christian Middle School.

The board of trustees is holding a public forum at 6 p.m. Monday at Canton High School to give stakeholders an opportunity to ask questions. Questions must be submitted to the school by 5 p.m. today (Thursday).

To submit a question, email thenderson@msbaonline.org.

The district has been without a full-time superintendent since the board fired Cassandra Williams in May.
