MADISON — Police arrested two women on Monday who are alleged to be involved in a multi-state felony shoplifting ring after attempting to steal items from the Ulta Beauty Supply store on Grandview Boulevard here.
According to MPD, the department received a call at 8:39 p.m. from Ulta Loss Prevention in Memphis, with concerns over two women in their Madison store.
“Loss prevention had identified the two females as being involved in a multi-state felony shoplifting ring responsible for thefts in Monroe, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and most recently in Flowood,” Madison police said in a release.
When officers tried to take the two women into custody, a brief vehicle pursuit ensued, police said. The pursuit lasted a couple of minutes and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department assisted to end the chase north of the Nissan interchange on I-55.
Arrested were Mickeiko Marcia Edwards of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Margo Cocone Norris of Arlington, Texas. Both were charged with felony shoplifting, felony fleeing, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of marijuana and DUI other.
“Numerous items from the various jurisdictions were recovered from the vehicle along with a small amount of marijuana,” police said.
