Katelyn Chisolm of Madison, has accepted an invitation of lifetime membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the nation's leading certified honor society for high-achieving first- and second-year college students with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. She is a sophomore at Mississippi State University. She is the oldest daughter of Allen and Leah (Turcotte) Chisolm. She is also the granddaughter of Ernest C. Turcotte, Sr., the late Mrs. Eleanor J. Turcotte, of Clinton, and Billy and Sue Chisolm of Flora.

    Roya Attar, OD, MBA, FAAO, an Assistant Professor and Director of Optometric Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center has been named the 2020 Young Optometrist of the South by the Southern Educational Congress of Optometry International. The award is presented annually to an optometrist in the southeast who has been practicing for 10 years or less to recognize significant contributions to the profession of optometry and the general public.
