The Bear Creek Water Association will open a new office building and workshop space at 586 Church Road following site plan approval from the city of Gluckstadt earlier this month.

The three-building campus will have a front office building where people can pay their bills and two buildings for various workshops and storage in the back.

The three buildings total about 11,050 square feet.

The Gluckstadt Mayor and Board of Alderman unanimously approved the site plans on Dec. 10. Alderman Jayce Powell moved to approve the plans, and Alderwoman Miya Warfield Bates seconded the motion.

Bear Creek officials did not give a timeline to start work on the transition.

Bear Creek Water Association, Inc. is a non-profit, member-owned, rural water association that provides water and sewer services to about 50,000 people in a 105-square-mile service area of south Madison County between the cities of Ridgeland to the south, Canton to the north, Flora to the west, and the Ross Barnett Reservoir to the east.
