RIDGELAND — Four Jackson teenagers were arrested on felony stolen property charges after a foot chase near the Wingate Hotel on the I-55 Frontage Road last month.

Taron Rashad Mixon, 18, of Jackson was arrested and charged with felony receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to a release from the Ridgeland Police Department.

Mixon was arrested along with three juveniles. They also face charges of felony receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Officers encountered the teens on Sunday, Jan. 26, at about 1 a.m., when RPD officers were patrolling the parking lot of the Wingate Hotel. 

When police located a Kia Optima reported stolen out of Jackson, the four occupants fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, all four were apprehended and taken into custody. 

The three juveniles were transported to a youth detention center and their cases will be referred to the Madison County Youth Court. 

Mixon was transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
