Rachael Lynch, a wife and mother of two daughters, added to her list of life achievements when she successfully released “Daughter of the King,” her brand-new children’s book, on Dec. 7.

She also has a sequel called “Son of the King” planned for 2021.

Lynch, wife of Brady Lynch and mother of two daughters, Kinsey and Klhoe, grew up in Madison and doesn’t plan on leaving.

“Daughter of the King” is about a little girl named Ella who longs for the glamorous things in life but comes to the realization that the glimmer and shimmer of those things will fade away, and her love for Jesus is worth more than any materialistic possession.

She is a daughter of King Jesus, and that’s more important than anything the world can offer.

Lynch describes the book as something her girls and nieces can read to their children one day, and a book for that girl at school who is struggling and needs a promise she can hold onto.

The book can also be a story parents can read to their daughter before bed, and she can fall asleep knowing she’s a child of God.

“The best experience I had was reading the final copy of the book to my daughter, and after I finished she turned right around and wanted to read it back to me,” Lynch said. “It was such a sweet moment.”

Over the years, Lynch has always wanted to write a children’s book. After reading “Made For This: 40 Days To Living Your Purpose” by Jennie Allen while in quarantine, she really made strides in getting the book rolling.

She recalled writing the book in about a week, and began the process of putting everything together in August of this year.

For the past several months, Lynch has been putting countless hours into getting the book published, and she feels it has a message that brings hope and talks about the love of Jesus.

For her, the book started out as a fun project, but the passion continuously grew over time.

Lynch noted that she wrote and illustrated everything herself, and used the graphic design program Canva for the illustrations.

She described taking provided images from the program and making them her own, such as the character Ella’s design, and the background images of the book.

“I just wish y’all could’ve seen my husband’s face when he came home from work and I told him I wrote a book,” she said.

Lynch said the hardest and most challenging process of writing “Daughter of the King” was learning how to self publish and find the right printing company, and the pandemic didn’t help either when waiting on things like the copyright.

“Despite the challenges, we were able to do it,” she said. “Right now you can purchase the book online and at very select stores such as Kinder Boutique, but we’re taking steps to make it more widely available.”

Husband Grady Lynch said his wife’s journey with writing this book has been incredibly inspiring for him.

“Rachael has been a preschool minister for a long time and she’s always had a big passion in sharing the Gospel to people,” Lynch said. “It was so inspiring watching her go through that grind.”

Lynch added that the books have been selling like hotcakes. To start off, they printed 100 copies to see how they sold, and within just two hours, they were all sold out. They ordered another 250, and those sold out as well. He said the community support has been amazing, and there were over 300 comments on the Facebook post about the book. Tons of people were commenting, saying they wanted to read it.

“It brought me to tears,” he said.

Lynch said that for his wife, it isn’t about the money or fame. It’s about doing work for God’s kingdom and spreading his word.

“She gives all the glory and credit to God,” he said. “She’s an awesome person, wife, and mother, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.”

“Daughter of the King” is available online and has recently been stocked at Kinder Boutique, a new children’s store, in Gluckstadt.

It can be purchased through PayPal at rachaelpooleylynch@gmail.com, or the purchase can be made through Venmo at rachaelpooleylynch.
