Ridgeland police investigating Sunday afternoon crash
Ridgeland Police are investigating a Sunday evening wreck that sent multiple victims to the hospital and damaged at least three vehicles at the intersection of U.S. 51 and County Line Road.
Patrol Division Commander Lt. Tony Willridge said that the wreck blocked traffic for a short period of time. The wreck occurred around 5:30 p.m.
“There were multiple injuries which required transport to local hospitals,” Willridge said. “The roadways were blocked for a short period of time as medical and towing services cleared the injured and vehicles from the scene. I have no additional information on the status of those transported. ”
He said that the cause has not yet been determined.
“Accident is still under investigation so the cause is not clear at this time.”
Willridge said that two vehicles were involved in an initial crash and that a third was damaged due to “flying debris.”
