RIDGELAND — A national coffee chain and a virtual reality gaming center are among the new developments approved on County Line Road last week by aldermen.

Items approved included a site plan and architectural review for a new Starbucks at 832 East County Line Road and a conditional use permit for a virtual reality gaming center at 1290 East County Line Road.

Alderman-at-Large D.I. Smith said that he was pleased to see new businesses locating on the busy roadway.

“We are always excited to see development and redevelopment on County Line Road,” Smith said.

Smith said that the Starbucks location, which will include a drive-through, has been empty for decades.

“It is a big plus we have a Starbucks going in there,” Smith said. “Several developers have tried to do something with that building but this looks like a done deal. I think it has been vacant for 25 years.”

Other approved items for architectural review for a new paint job on two buildings on U.S. Highway 51. They were J Allan’s Furniture at 555 Highway 51 and an office building at 321 Highway 51.
