TrustCare opens new kids clinic in Gluckstadt
GLUCKSTADT — For head pediatrician Dr. Catherine Phillippi, making going to the doctor as fun as possible for their smaller patients is the aim with state-of-the-art technology and scheduling.
Of course, to her, the new clinic is nothing other than immaculate, but it’s colorful and welcoming to children so much so — get this — some kids are sad about leaving.
The pediatric clinic is now open for business and seeing patients. The new facility is filled with state-of-the-art technology, including smartboards in every room with different activities for the kids, examination tables designed to look like a specific animal or reptile, and it even has a tree growing out of the wall in the waiting room.
Along with the technology, the staff at TrustCare Kids puts forth the best attitude possible, and according to Phillippi, working there requires a good attitud.
Dr. Phillippi has been working in pediatrics since 2002 and found herself at TrustCare Kids after a friend of hers told her they knew someone at TrustCare and were looking for a pediatrician. They contacted Phillippi, and she’s now the lead pediatrician at the clinic.
“The people here trust my experience and that I’ve practiced pediatrics long enough,” Phillippi said. “They’re committed to making sure we have everything we need, from vaccines to high quality equipment and testing capabilities.”
Phillippi said the best part of TrustCare Kids is the efficiency of the clinic and that patients can either set an appointment up themselves or can walk in whenever they want.
She said the goal was to design the clinic to have a traditional pediatric practice, and for everyone there to work as a team to deal with emergencies as well as walk-ins, COVID testing, and more. That way, the structure allows for kids to be in and out quickly for smaller check-ups such as strep throat testing.
Phillippi continued by saying working at TrustCare Kids will be a really great opportunity for her, and people have already contacted her about appointments just a couple days after opening.
She strives to choose employees that she knows will be an extension to her best practice and approaching things as a team is the best way to go. She hopes the clinic will be successful and is very excited for the future.
“I want this clinic to be as efficient as possible, and my team and I are going to make that happen,” she said.
People have already been praising the clinic just days after its grand opening.
Tyler-Marie Oates of Madison said she would 100 percent recommend Dr. Phillippi to anyone she know with kids, and that the clinic was amazing and kid friendly.
Oates brought her daughter Kennedy Ann to the clinic for a checkup, and she said the interactive tables and TVs made the clinic feel more like a play area than waiting for the doctor, and the entire staff was so friendly and answered any questions.
“We felt at home and welcomed the entire time. We are so excited to have such a wonderful clinic so close to us,” Oates said. “Cathy Phillippi is amazing and the Madison community is lucky to have her!”
TrustCare Health Marketing Director Julie Darling said the idea for TrustCare Kids was a brainchild between CEO of TrustCare Health, Warren Herring, and COO Phillip Coburn.
She said they saw a need for pediatric care in this area for parents needing fine care for their kids after hours and on weekends. In addition to that, they thought to combine urgent care and primary pediatric care into one location that can serve pretty much everything a child would need.
