Updates given on Bozeman Road, Reunion projects
Updates on three major engineering projects were provided to the Board of Supervisors during their regular meeting on Monday.
The updates were:
• Bozeman Road — Of the 55 land purchase transactions required, Neel Schaffer engineers said 51 have been completed.
Utility companies are relocating service lines, and the county is securing a wetland permit. Construction is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2022.
• Reunion Phase II (Reunion Parkway Crossing, which consists of the eastward extension of Reunion Parkway and a North/Southbound Interchange directly onto I-55) — The required studies and plans have been submitted to the Mississippi Department of Transportation for review. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2022, the Mississippi Engineering Group reported.
• Reunion Phase III (from Highway 51 at Green Oaks Road to Parkway East next to the Madison Healthplex Performance Center) — All the required property has been purchased and utilities are being relocated. Construction is scheduled to begin near the middle of 2022, Stantec engineers reported.
In other business, supervisors:
• Granted tax-exempt status to Harvest of Hope Christian Center.
• Approved hiring Integrated Right of Way LLC for right-of-way acquisition services for the Catlett Road Widening Project for a fee not to exceed $47,875.
• Approved the final plat for Autumn Crest subdivision. The development is approximately 27.83 acres with 60 lots at roughly 1/4 acre each.
• Authorized advertising for construction bids for a pedestrian bridge at Sulphur Springs Park.
• Approved the site plan for the third phase of Gluckstadt Park which will be located on Dees Road.
• Approved the site plan for a new warehouse on American Way for Madison Fireplace and Patio.
• Approved a preliminary plat for 12 lots on Moss and Kearney roads for Avondale Estates.
• The Board voted to hire Tommie Cardin of the Butler Snow firm to provide legal counsel on redistricting.
