MRA senior Fallon Humphries was recently named the Gatorade Mississippi Player of the Year, following a phenomenal senior season that led to MRA’s first volleyball state title in school history.

Humphries, who is signed to continue her volleyball career at North Florida, becomes the first volleyball player in school history to win the prestigious award given to the top volleyball player in the state annually on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

This adds to Humphries’ impressive list of postseason awards already, as she was already named MaxPreps State Player of the Year and MAIS Division One Player of the Year.

Humphries finished her senior season with 513 kills, 100 aces, 414 receptions, and a .395 hitting percentage. Those numbers are good for top-ten in the state in each category, according to MaxPreps.

After knocking off five-time defending state champion Jackson Academy in the state title match, Humphries also becomes the first player since the beginning of that run to win the award that is not from Jackson Academy.

Humphries leaves behind a legacy at MRA that will be unrivaled, leading MRA to their first volleyball title in school history and sweeping every major player of the year award along the way.

She will join her sister, Cameron Humphries, with the University of North Florida volleyball program in the fall to continue her career at the next level.
