Week 13 High School Pick’em

With area playoff action starting this week, there will be few better matchups than Canton Academy hosting Greenville St. Joseph in a rematch of last year’s MAIS 3A semifinals. The Panthers will look for a measure of revenge in this year’s quarterfinal matchup, as St. Joseph ended their season last year in a 28-27 thriller at Canton Academy. The Panthers will begin their playoff journey for their second state title in three years. 

This week’s guest picker is one of the key members of that 2022 Canton Academy state championship team, former CA and current Southwest Mississippi Community College running back, Chris Hunter. Hunter was the 2022 and 2023 MAIS Overall Player of the Year and also won state titles in track and field and tennis, before graduating in Canton Academy’s class of 2024.
