Annandale Chapter DAR issues Good Citizen awards

Annandale Chapter DAR Good Citizen Chairman, Debbie Cannon was honored to present Annandale’s 1st Place Good Citizen certificate, lapel pin, and scholarship check to Ava Dear at Madison Central High School on Senior Class Day. The Good Citizen Award is presented to one senior annually based on a written essay and the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Ava was not only the Annandale Chapter 1st place winner but she went on to win the MSSDAR State Contest. Pictured are Debbie Cannon and Ava Dear.

Annandale Chapter DAR Good Citizen Chairman, Debbie Cannon attended the Germantown Senior Class Day, where she presented Meg Glasgow with a Good Citizen certificate, lapel pin, and a monetary award for placing second in the Annandale Chapter Essay and Scholarship Contest. The DAR Youth Citizenship Medal is for a boy or girl in grades 5 through 11. The medal is awarded to students who fulfill the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism. Debbie Cannon, Annandale Chapter DAR Good Citizen Chairman, presented  to 10th grader Katie Grace Barbour and 11th grader Lola Williams  at the MCHS Awards Day.
