Former Ridgeland High School football star Ayden Williams announced his commitment to Mississippi State on Friday morning, after announcing his decision to transfer from in-state rival Ole Miss last week.

The Germantown boys’ basketball team continued their dominant season with a 57-50 win over region rival Madison Central on Friday night, moving to 15-3 overall and 3-0 in region play.

High school soccer around the area is back in action, with multiple local teams and players standing so far in the season.

With basketball season in full swing, several teams from around the area will be playing in holiday tournaments throughout the area, as they make their final preparations before getting into the thick of region and district play.

Jackson Prep boys basketball is off to an 11-1 start this year and are receiving national recognition, as they entered the national top 100 rankings on MaxPreps for the first time in program history.
