GLUCKSTADT — A Yazoo City man has been charged with grand larceny after a new Camaro was driven off the lot after hours at Mac Haik Chevrolet here in early December.

The man, Ricardo Lamonte Jones, 21, of Yazoo City was charged with grand larceny and remains in jail on a $35,000 bond, according to Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale.

Jones and three others are believed to be involved in the auto theft. Jones was arrested in Flowood following a high-speed chase there.

A juvenile involved in the chase and possibly connected to the stolen vehicle was able to elude capture by Flowood Police, according to Hale.

“Charges will be forthcoming when the other two suspects are released from Rankin County,” Hale said.

Hale said he has no further information about the incident in Flowood and noted that the suspects face charges in multiple jurisdictions.

On Dec. 03, 2023, a blue Chevrolet Camaro SS was stolen from Mac Haik Chevrolet after hours at the dealership off of Autobahn Loop in Gluckstadt.

They are all suspected of being involved in several other auto thefts in the metro area, according to Hale.
