JA to perform ‘Peter Pan’

Audiences will be enchanted as Peter Pan, Wendy, and her siblings fly to adventures in Neverland in Jackson Academy’s production of “Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure.” Show times are Saturday, October 21 at 7 p.m., Sunday, October 22 at 2 p.m., and Monday, October 23 at 7 p.m. The musical will be held in the school’s 800-seat Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Ridgewood Road.

Under the direction of JA’s Director of Performing Arts Kerri Sanders, the professional caliber production involves significant preparation on many levels. Actors on stage and crew members behind the curtains learned about the PAC’s fly system from the professional company, ZFX Flying Effects. Students and parents, led by Technical Directors Andy Prince and Chris Lloyd, have constructed elaborate sets, including a crocodile as large as a Jeep. The school’s Theatre Production class is highly involved in the building. Director of Choral Music Garrett Lindsey has worked with actors, crew, and musicians, including orchestrating music to time correctly with the flights of Peter, Wendy, and her siblings.

Members of the community are invited to JA to see this spectacular musical production that involves a large student cast and crew from Middle and Upper School. For tickets, visit https://japac.ludus.com/index.php.
