On February 23rd, 2024, our beloved matriarch Lisa Williams Davis passed peacefully at Saint Catherine’s Village in Madison, Mississippi. 

She was born on October 5th, 1939, in Montgomery, Alabama to Robert and Sarah Williams. Her family then relocated to Jackson, Mississippi where she lived in Fondren. She graduated from Murrah High School in 1957 then married at the age of 17. She then moved to Starkville, Mississippi with her husband, so he could complete his education at Mississippi State University. 

In 1960 she welcomed her first child and spent the decades to come as a devoted mother and wife. She was involved in the PTA, Cub Scouts, and became a member of Briarwood Presbyterian church. She remained devoted to Briarwood her entire life eventually becoming an ordained Elder. In 1980, at the age of 41, Lisa enrolled in Hinds Community College and began her dream of achieving a college education. She graduated in 1984 from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. She graduated with honors and received the Delta Sigma Pi award for the highest average in the School of Business. 

In 1998 Mississippi College School of Business awarded her Alumna of the Year. She then worked as a CPA, a Certified Financial Planner, and a stockbroker. In 1994 she was appointed to the Mississippi State Tax Commission as Associate Commissioner where she served for seven years. In 1998 she married Albert E. Davis where they filled their new home with love and laughter. 

She leaves behind a vast and loving family, comprised of both blood relatives and cherished individuals whom she embraced as her own, each one a testament to the depth of her love and the richness of her legacy. 

Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Benjamin and Sarah Holliday Williams, her sister Mary Williams Cogburn, her son Donald Richard Hall, and her husband Albert Ellis Davis. 

She is survived by her sons Robert Evans Hall (Dianne) of Ridgeland and John Christian Hall (Kathy) of Pearl, her stepdaughters Caren Davis and Cynthia Holliday, her grandson Christian Hamilton Hall (Lacy), her granddaughter Shelby Lane Hall, step grandson Brandon Tyler Holliday, step granddaughter Bonnie Brooke Holliday, and great grandson Ellis Evans Hall. 

Services were held March 2nd at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
