Chloe Carter will represent the city of Gluckstadt at the Miss Magnolia State pageant in Vicksburg in November.

Carter grew up in Gluckstadt before incorporation.

“It has been awesome to see the place I grew up become a city,” Carter said.

Alderman Jayce Powell said he is happy the city has shown their support for Miss City of Gluckstadt with a resolution unanimously approved during their meeting earlier in May.

“The city is behind her,” Powell said.

Carter said she was crowned Miss City of Gluckstadt at a preliminary event for the upcoming pageant held in February at Madison Crossing Elementary in the auditorium.

“I love that I have the opportunity to give back to my community by showing people the spirit Glcukstadt holds,” she said. “It is very special. I can’t wait to get the name out there on a statewide stage.”

A 2021 graduate of Germantown High School, Carter will be a senior at Mississippi State University in the fall.

Her platform includes the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the philanthropy of her sorority, Phi Mu. Her platform also includes anti-sex trafficking, an issue she has worked closely with No Longer Bound, a student organization that supports shelters throughout the state and Reshma’s House, a Bangladeshi organization that provides education, shelter and other resources to rescued children.

She is the daughter of Craig Carter and Felicia and Kevin Crotwell.
