Madison the City will host its annual fireworks show on July 3, starting at 9 p.m. at Liberty Park.

The Fourth of July celebrations in Madison County kick off this Friday with Ridgeland’s signature Celebrate America Balloon Glow.

Other municipalities in the county all have plans to celebrate America’s birthday.

RIDGELAND

The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday at Northpark in Ridgeland for a fun-filled evening of patriotism, spectacular visuals, and family-fun activities. The Kid’s Corner, which will operate from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., will also provide activities for children. The event is free to the public.

As night falls, over 15 hot air balloons will inflate and glow against the sky, creating a beautiful backdrop before the fireworks light up the sky and music by the Temperance Trio.

Also performing throughout the evening are DJ Trix, Soundcheck The Band, with Drake Milligan the headlining performer.

CANTON

In the same hot air balloon spirit, the annual Mississippi Championship Balloon Fest will continue over the weekend in the City of Canton with the main event Saturday. Festivities start tonight at 6:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony on the north lawn of the Courthouse, with the competition starting Friday morning.

The city of Canton will host the MS Championship Balloon Fest this weekend. Though the main event is Saturday, festivities start on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. with a balloon inflating ceremony on the north lawn of the courthouse square.

Saturday evening, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Canton will host events at the Multipurpose Center including another balloon glow, fireworks and music from the Travelin’ Jane Band
